U-Boat is an Italian watch brand based in Tuscany. Designed by Italo Fontana, these unique remarkable timepieces combine the finest Italian craftsmanship with the designer’s exceptional vision. Inspired by the dark side of the moon, the Darkmoon collection takes the concept of oil immersion first introduced with the Sommerso models and improves upon it. The timepiece’s Ronda Swiss movement is completely immersed in oil. The dial gets its black colour from being surrounded by the oil. 

Core Features of the Darkmoon Collection:

• The crown is placed on the left-hand side and is fitted with U-Boat’s patented crown protection system.
• A curved sapphire glass crystal covers the dial. 
• The case is filled with a special oil that emphasises the dial and increases readability. A visible air bubble is left to compensate for temperature variations. 
• Water-resistant up to 5 bars or 50 metres.

• The AISI 316L steel case with an aged bronze PVD treatment measures 46.5mm in diameter. 
• Black SuperLumiNova hands and indices contrast the painted metal dial with an aged finish. 
• A cognac brown laser-cut aged leather strap secures the watch to the wrist. It fastens with an AISI 316L steel buckle with an aged bronze PVD treatment.
