Sinn are a brand with a solid reputation for producing incredibly high-quality timepieces that are powered by precisely engineered movements. The brand was founded in Frankfurt, Germany by Helmut Sinn in 1961. The Sinn 717 watch is a classic cockpit wristwatch. The design of the watch is inspired by that of the Nabo 17 ZM cockpit clock. This clock was used in combat aircraft and military helicopters. The dial of the watch has been especially designed to be easy to read in the dark to emulate the appearance of the original clock. • This model features a matte black dial with a date aperture positioned at 3 o’clock. The dial exhibits a sub-dial positioned at 9 o’clock. The Arabic and baton indices are coated with a luminous substance. The hour and minute hands are white and the second and 60-minute stop function hand are orange. The hands are all filled with a luminous substance.
• Anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial.
• A bead-blasted stainless steel case with a black hard coating on a TEGIMENT technology basis frames the dial. It measures 45mm in diameter, 15.3mm in thickness, and 24mm in lug width. The watch weighs 114 grams without a strap.
• The watch is finished with a black, vintage-style cowhide leather strap. It is detailed with orange stitching and fastens with a pin buckle.
• This model is powered by a Sinn SZ01 self-winding mechanism. It uses 26 bearing jewels and 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour to power the watch. The movement features a seconds stop function and is anti-magnetic as per DIN 8309.
• The watch is water and pressure-resistant up to 200 metres (20 bar). This is aided by the screw-fastened case back and screwable crown of the watch. It is also resistant to low pressure. The watch meets the technical requirements for waterproofness as set out in standard DIN 8310.
