MeisterSinger was founded in 2001 and takes its name from a group of middle-class poets and singers from the 15th and 16th Century. The name "Kaneos" is derived from the Greek word "kainos", which means "new" or "fresh", and refers to the Cenozoic era - an epoch of renewal in the Earth's history. The name is more than appropriate, considering the Kaneos marks a fresh new start for MesiterSinger and stands for exciting further development.

• This model exhibits a sunburst grey dial with two superimposed layers. The Arabic numerals and hour markers of the upper layer are neatly cut out to reveal a second, luminous layer underneath.
