Duckworth Prestex’s origin story spans back almost a century. The Duckworth family business, Prestons, was founded back in 1869 in Bolton. The firm began making pocket watches in the 1920s, which were branded under the name of ‘Prestex’. Despite its success, the Prestex brand was discontinued in the 1960s to prioritise other ventures through Prestons. After 20 years of mourning, Neil Duckworth made the decision to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and revive the Prestex brand. Using experience from his long career in watchmaking, Duckworth launched ‘Duckworth Prestex’ to pay homage to both his family and the former beloved Prestex brand. The Duckworth Prestex Bolton ‘Classic Special Coronation’ collection features two timepieces celebrating the 2023 Coronation of King Charles III. The watches in this collection feature the classic Art Deco numerals that Duckworth Prestex is well known for and a special small seconds sub-dial for extra functionality.
