Kintaro Hattori founded the K Hattori Clock Shop at the age of 21. The brand’s first clocks and watches were produced during the 1890's under the name Seikosha. In 1913 the company produced Japan's first wristwatch called the Laurel, marking the beginning of a series of achievements. The first watches under the Seiko name were released in 1924, with Seiko being the only name used on the brand’s watches since 1937.
